PTC Publisher Revenue Guide: Measure What Matters
Measure PTC publisher revenue, costs, completion rates, and visitor experience before choosing an offerwall for your site.
A high advertised PTC rate does not tell you what your faucet or crypto site will earn. Visitors need relevant ads, enough inventory and a reward experience they are willing to finish. To compare offerwalls, measure the full journey from a visitor opening the wall to a confirmed credit and payout.
Disclosure: MoneyRain publishes this blog and operates the MoneyRain Offerwall. Results and available inventory vary by site, audience, geography and time.
Start with the metrics that affect your site
- Wall opens: How many people choose to open the placement?
- Completion rate: How many started views become validated completions? Check the provider's definition of a start and a completion.
- Fill and availability: Can visitors actually find eligible ads? Compare by country and time of day rather than relying on a single visit.
- Confirmed publisher revenue: Use credited earnings for the same period and currency; account for reversals and fees when applicable.
- Visitor experience: Watch support tickets, failed rewards, load times and whether people return after using the wall.
Do not compare an advertiser's quoted CPM directly with your own payout. A rate per thousand ad views, a rate per thousand wall opens and a share of advertiser spend use different denominators. Ask what each rate measures and which events qualify.
Calculate net revenue per 1,000 wall opens
For a simple comparison, subtract user rewards and relevant provider or withdrawal fees from confirmed publisher revenue, then divide by wall opens and multiply by 1,000. This is an internal measurement, not a provider's promised CPM.
For example, 5,000 opens generate 5 USDT in confirmed publisher revenue. If user rewards cost 2 USDT and relevant fees are 0.50 USDT, net revenue is 2.50 USDT, or 0.50 USDT per 1,000 opens. The figures are illustrative, not an earnings estimate. Hosting, support, fraud losses and other business costs can reduce the result further.
Run a fair test
Use the same placement, reward policy and measurement period where practical. If you split traffic between providers, use comparable groups and track geography and device type. Avoid changing several things at once. Record the dates, sample sizes and any outages; a small sample can make one unusually good or bad day look like a trend.
Check provider rules before sending incentivized traffic or using multiple networks. Also compare withdrawal requirements, currencies, fees, callback documentation and support. A network that looks attractive on a rate card may not suit your actual audience or payout workflow.
Protect the experience that creates repeat visits
Explain that ads are optional, show users what they can expect to earn and provide a clear way to report a missing reward. Keep the wall usable on mobile and avoid placements that obscure navigation. Review ad quality and complaints regularly. An extra placement can increase short-term opens while making the rest of your site less useful, so monitor retention as well as revenue.
